diaryIt’s a muggy, wet and pretty much a miserable day outside, and while I know we need the rain due to the drought conditions, it doesn’t feel like a very inspiring day.

So what else do you do on days like today? Stare at your blog for a while and hope inspiration comes. Then it dawned on me that my blog needed a decent name. Time to move from the lame, run of the mill, looks boring name to something catchy and hopefully unique.

I stated bouncing words around and thinking of alternatives, things seemed to be a lost cause. Then I figured I needed to work out what the blog was about. Well, no set topic. That makes it harder then doesn’t it.

My thoughts and miscellaneous memories came to mind. So with that I figured, yeah they’re usually tangled and twisted up. That gave me Gnarled Miscellany, after a lot of play on words finding the right combination.

The tag line pretty much just presented itself once I got the name sorted. The unravelling of my thought diversity just seemed to be the right tag line for what will be just that.

Confirming with a Google search that both phrases were relatively unique, I ran the idea past my partner who liked it.

The actual reply I got was

Where the hell did that come from? Surely a book & a few pretty coloured pencils didn’t inspire that much – it’s very cool.

The book and pretty coloured pencils reference comes from a web purchase that got delivered today, but that’s another topic. So all in all, I think the name fits well and my partner likes it too, must be a good thing.

Now comes the part where I forward think and try to come up with some categories, which will help organise the thought process.
